Edna (Rabb) Phillips is a part of US Black heritage.
This profile is part of the Mound Bayou, Mississippi One Place Study.

Edna Rabb was born in December, 1886 in Concordia, Louisiana, United States.

On June 1, 1900, Edna, age 14, was the daughter of Harrison Rabb in Wards 1-2, Concordia, Louisiana.[1]

Edna (38) married Josh David Sledge sometime between 1900 and 1910, likely in Concordia Parish, Louisiana.

On April 15, 1910, Edna, age 21, was the married head of household in Ferriday, Concordia, Louisiana.[2]

Vera Lee Sledge was born to Josh and Edna Sledge on July 20, 1912. in Ferriday, Concordia Parish, Louisiana.

It is presumed that Edna and Josh Sledge were divorced sometime between 1912 and 1918 since Josh married Genora (last name unknown) before 1918.[3]

Edna (38) married Harvey Phillips on August 13, 1925 in Clarksdale, Coahoma, Mississippi, United States.[4]

Edna appeared with Harvey Phillips in the Clarksdale, Mississippi City Directory in 1927. Harvey was working as an electrician and they were living at 610 Lincoln Place.[5]

On April 2, 1930, Edna, age 35, was the wife of Harvey Phillips in Clarksdale, Coahoma, Mississippi.[6]

On April 1, 1940, Edna, age 49, was the wife of Harvey Philips in Beat 4, Coahoma, Mississippi.[7]

On April 1, 1950, Edna, age 59, was the wife of Harvey Philip in Clarksdale, Coahoma, Mississippi. Their grandson, Bazella Rainey, Jr. was living with them.[8]

Edna and Harvey appeared in the 1957 Clarksdale, Mississippi City Directory, living at 660 McKinley Street.[9]

Edna died in 1963 in Mississippi, United States, aged 79.

Edna was buried in Saint Gabriel Cemetery, Mound Bayou, Bolivar County, Mississippi with a death date of 1963.[10]
