Ernest William Rayner was born[1] on Tuesday, 3rd September 1907, the son of Henry Rayner and Elsie Annis Muriel (Bell) Rayner, at Paddington, New South Wales, Australia.

Ernest married[2] Myra Mavis Thelma Nipperess on Wednesday, 14th March 1934 at St John the Baptist's Church of England, Mudgee, New South Wales, Australia.

AT St. John's Church of England, Mudgee, yesterday afternoon Miss Myra Nipperess, of Lue, was married to Mr. Ernest William Rayner, of Mudgee. Rev. C. E. Ussher conducted the ceremony. After the wedding a reception was held at the Sydney Hotel.

Together they had 5 children.
