Isabella Bruce "Belle" Reid was born on 21 December 1883 in Balwyn, Victoria, Australia, the youngest of ten children to Mary Jane (Clancy) Reid and Robert Reid.[1][2]
She attended school at Genazzano FCJ College, Kew, Victoria, before going on to become the first woman to qualify as a veterinarian in Australia.[1][2]
As a dog breeder, she was interested in Pomeranians and Irish wolfhounds.[2]
Isabella died on 13 December 1945 in Canterbury, Victoria, aged 62 years.[2][3] Her remains were buried at
