Her death notice, as appearing in The Macomb Journal, Volume 34, Number 38, on June 13, 1889:
"Mrs. Lizzie Arnold, wife of Simon Arnold, the man who keeps the C., B. & Q. tank between Bardolph and Bushnell, died Sunday last from an internal cancer. Some time since a cancer appeared on the surface. This was dissected away by Dr. Bacon, and healed, apparently. It appears, however, the removed substance was only a portion, or that a separate cancer internal followed, and from this she died. Mrs. Arnold had lived at place where she died something near 30 years. She was born in Germany; was between 50 and 60 years of age. Her remains were buried in the Catholic graveyard Tuesday."[1]
She is buried in Saint Paul Catholic Cemetery, Macomb, Illinois.[2]
