Julius was born in 1842. He is the son of Jared Reynolds and Charlotte Clark.
In the 1850 census [1] he is age 8 living in Brooklyn, Cuyahoga County, Ohio with his mother who had remarried a Spencer Lyon. Also in the household are two half siblings, Joel (age 13) and Jane (age 11) from his mother's first marriage to Israel Seaton, and his siblings Luther (age 9), Electa (age 8) and his half siblings by his mother and step father Spencer Lyon Cornelius (age 5), and Julia (age 3). In the census they are all listed with the last name Lyon, but all children retain the last name of their respective fathers.
There was a Julius K. Reynolds who was a Union soldier during the Civil War, entering service as a Private and ending service as a Sargent. He was a member of the Ohio 8th Infantry. [2]
