Biography

Marilyn was born on April 10, 1932 in Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan. She was the daughter of Joseph Ribble and Ethel Keyes. Marilyn began her love of sports, church, and dance as a young girl. As a teen, she attended Cass Tech High School, where she was a member of the Varsity Basketball team with the nickname “Dribble Ribble”. Marilyn gave her heart to Christ as a child and that child-like love of Christ continued until He drew her home on September 30, 2013, at the age of 81.

Marilyn was the beloved wife of the late James E. Wampler Sr. for 52 years. She was a loving and beloved mother and leaves behind her legacy in her 12 children.

She was also a beloved aunt. Her entire life was devoted to her children and grandchildren, attending all of their events and creating joyful memories by sharing her love for life with her entire family. Her second family was the Faith Bible Church community, where she enjoyed attending many events, especially the yearly Christmas Tea. Whether you were born into or were an extension of the family, she loved everyone the same and made every single person feel uniquely special, her smile and joy lighting up every room she entered. Marilyn always loved knitting and most who knew her own a pair of knitted slippers. She spent her retirement years with her husband, James, enjoying family camping trips, traveling, shopping, reading and spending time with family. Marilyn continued enjoying her remaining years living with her family.

Marilyn died on September 30, 2013 in Westland, Wayne County, Michigan at the age of 79 years. She was buried at the Knollwood Memorial Park Cemetery located in Canton, Wayne County, Michigan.
