Marcelite Ritter, daughter of Antoine Ritter and Tharzile Savoie, was born 1 February 1839 at Grand Coteau, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana.[1]
She and David Higginbotham, son of James Higginbotham and Elisa Meche, obtained a marriage license on 25 September 1865 at the Opelousas courthouse in St. Landry Parish.[2]
They were married on 2 October 1865 in Grand Coteau.[3]
They had at least four children:
