Biography

James Robinson, son of Ludwell Robinson and Artemesia Robinson, was born in Michigan, United States, in about 1847.[1]

In 1850, three year-old James resided with parents and siblings Fletcher, Eli, Richard and Lucretia, farming in Silver Creek Township, Cass County, Michigan.[2] James's paternal grandparents, who shared a home with his aunt, Sarah, and Sarah's three children, resided three doors away.[3]

James remained in Silver Creek Township in 1860, still farming with his parents and brothers Eli and Richard.[4] Residing immediately next door was the family of his uncle, David Robinson.[5] Residing two doors further down was James' widowed 89 year-old grandfather, Spencer Robinson, residing with the family of James' brother, Fletcher.[6]
