Biography

Ichabod Rogers, the son of Hope Rogers & his wife Esther, was born on 19 January 1718 in Windham, Connecticut.

Ichabod married Priscilla Holt (Iccabod Roggers and Priscilla Holt) on 10 Nov 1743 at Windham, Windham, CT.^[1] She was the daughter of George & Mary (Bixby) Holt.

In an unsourced, handwritten document, Ichabod was noted as emigrating from Windham Ct to this place. Ichabod was described as a "hard-laboring, steady, stable-minded man". (Wales, Massachusetts) in 1748.^[2]

In an address delivered in Wales, October 5, 1862, Ichabod and his brother, Joel, were identified as the progenitors of the Rogers line in Wales, Massachusetts. It was noted that although Ichabod was said to have had thirteen children, twelve of whom survived, and eight of whom were sons, there were none of his descendants left in town by 1862.^[3]

He passed away in 1800 and is buried in Wales, Hampden County, Massachusetts.^[4]
