Maria Desanges Roy (also called Roy Desrosiers) was probably born in St-Jean-Port-Joli, Quebec, Canada. On August 1, 1826, in St-Jean-Port-Joli she married Joseph Gaudreau of Rivière-au-Renard. One of their children was Nicolas Goudreau (spelling of surname changed from Gaudreau to Goudreau) who was born in 1840 in L'Anse-au-Griffon (village close to Rivière-au-Renard, Quebec, Canada).
