Biography

Arthur Runnels was born 26 Nov 1806 at Haverill, Grafton Co NH, son of Nathaniel Runnels and Mary Merrill. He died 22 Mar 1894 at Piermont, Grafton Co., NH.^[1]

Arthur Runnels inherited the farm occupied by his father in Piermont, NH. He sold same after his father's death and purchased another near the site of the Old Meeting House in Piermont NH, residing there with new buildings erected in 1872. For a time he owned a brickyard in Piermont NH.

He married on November 5, 1838 at Newbury, Orange, Vermont to Luella Hall. They were married at her father's home in Newbury VT by Rev. Mr. Dow. She died, after a wearisome and protracted illness of dropsy, April 18, 1872. Children born in Piermont:

1. Mary Morrill Worthen Runnekls, b May 24, 1841, She married 25 Feb 1868 in Haverhill NH to Asa Ames, a farmer of Orford NH where their children were botn (AMES): Luella Pamelia, Arthur Edsin(twin), Ezra Asa (twin)
2. Ezra Bartlett Runnels, b 4 Aug 1847; m. Ella J. Morrill of Bradford VT on 7 Sep 1871 and settled with his father Nathaniel in Piermont NH.
