Mary (Russell) Bethel is part of a Bahamian family.
Biography
Mary Ann was born circa 1830–31 in Great Harbour, Berry Islands, Bahamas.[1] Her parents remain unidentified.
She married first John Curry on 16 November 1848 in Key West, Florida, in a ceremony performed by Charles C. Adams, Rector of St. Paul's Church.[2]
She married second Noah T. Bethel on 6 June 1871 in Key West in a ceremony performed by W. C. Maloney.[3] Noah and Mary Ann apparently lived together in a Common Law marriage before they were formally married, as they had a son together in 1867.[4]
Mary Ann was still alive when the 1885 state census was taken in Key West.[5] That is the last record known of her.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Mary by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Mary:
Russell-9745 and Russell-9681 appear to represent the same person because: These two Mary Ann Russells appear to be the same person. The John Curry and Mary Ann Russell who were the parents of William Henry Curry were also the parents of John Aggleston Curry and Uriah Curry (among others). I can add more information to this Curry family once the profiles are merged. Thanks, Jeff Haines
