Biography

Polly (Salisbury) Perry was born in Greasby, Cheshire, England.

Mary "Polly" Salisbury was born in 1848 in Greasby, Cheshire, England, daughter of John Salisbury (1815 - 1892) and Harriet (Jones) Salisbury (~1815 - 1895).^[1]

She was baptised at the Church of St Bridget in West Kirby on June 4, 1848.^[2]

When the 1851 census was taken on March 30, 1851 Mary was living with her parents and siblings in Greasby.^[3]

When the 1861 census was taken on April 7, 1861, Mary with her parents and siblings in Greasby.^[4]

By 1871 Mary had married Robert Perry (1849-1921).

Together they had the following children:

When the 1871 census was taken on April 2, 1871, Robert and Mary and their first born son Joseph were living in Old Bidston Road Cumberland Place, Birkenhead, Cheshire. Robert and his brother in law William were both Joiners.^[13]

When the 1881 census was taken on April 3, 1881 Robert and Mary and their children were living at 13, Lilly Street, Tranmere, Birkenhead, Cheshire^[14]

By 1888 they were in Melbourne, Colony of Victoria, and may have been living in Laverton.^[15]

Mary died on December 10, 1924 in Wellington, New Zealand, aged 71.^[15] She was buried in the Karori Cemetery and Crematorium, Wellington, New Zealand.^[16]
