Alfred was born about 1855 in Camberwell, Surrey the son of George Sandeman and Abigail (Faraday).[1]
1861 Census on the 7th April 1861 Alfred was living in Montague Road, Croydon, Surrey with his parentsGeorge and Abigail, and his siblings Frederick, Margaret, George, Agnes, Eva, Michael and Walter. Also living there were Abigail's sister Elizabeth and their mother Margaret.[2]
1871 Census on the 2nd April 1871 Alfred was living in Garlock Villa, St Donatts Road, Greenwich, Kent with his mother Abigail, and his siblings Margaret, George, Agnes, Eva, Michael and Walter. Also living there was her nephew Harold Faraday.[3]
