She was a graduate of Provincial Normal College and worked as a teacher, was a former employee of Maritime Tel & Tel and a member of St. John's United Church, United Church Women, United Church choir and the IODE. Surviving are daughter, Doris (Mrs. James Nichols), Bridgewater; sisters, Mrs. Margaret Roop, Middleton; Mrs. Madelyn Stewart, Ailsa Craig, Ontario; granddaughter, Susan; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, John R. (Jack); brother, Moody; sister, Lena. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Sunday, funeral 2 p.m. Monday, both in Warren T. Roop Funeral Home, Middleton, Rev. Ronald Dempsey officiating. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Middleton. Donations to St. John's United Church memorial fund, Arthritis Society of Nova Scotia or any charity.
