Birth and Parents
Jacob Schick was born in Iowa.
Jacob, the eldest of four children of Valentine Schick (1845-1901) and Alice E. Long (1858-1892) was born on 16 September 1877 at Ottumwa, Iowa.
Marriages and Children
Jacob was married twice. He married 1) Mary Frothingham (1878-1943), the daughter of Dr. George and Lucy (Barbour) Frothingham on 31 July 1902 at Detroit, Michigan[2]
They had three daughters:
Barbara Schick (b. 2 Apr 1903; d. 10 Apr 1903, Detroit, MI)
Virginia Schick (b. 2 Apr 1903; d. 20 Apr 1903, Detroit, MI)
Barbara Schick (b. Apr 1905; d. 14 Jun 1925, Detroit, MI)[3]
According to FindAGrave, Mary and Jacob were divorced in 1911 after she was admitted to an asylum. There is no further information about this relationship.
Jacob married as her first husband 2) Florence Belle "Flossie" Leavitt (1899-1992), the daughter of John Zeb and Ella (Larabee) Leavitt on 13 July 1921 at Brattleboro, Vermont.[4] They had two daughters:

Barbara Schick (b. 15 Oct 1924; d. 29 Mar 1986, Stamford, CT)[5]
In 1930, Jacob (53 years, b. IA, occupation Engineer; Inventor) was living at Greenwhich, Fairfield, Connecticut. Residing with him were his second wife Florence (30 years, b. VT) and daughters Virginia (7 years, b. NJ) and Barbara (5 years, b. NJ)[6]
Jacob Schick became a Canadian citizen in 1935 to avoid an investigation by the Joint Congressional Committee on Tax Evasion & Avoidance after he moved most of his wealth to a series of holding companies in the Bahamas.[7]
Death and Burial
Col. Jacob Schick died on 3 July 1937 in his 59th year at Montreal. There is a FindAGrave memorial citing that he was buried in Cimetière Mont-Royal, Outremont, Montreal Region, Quebec, Canada.[8]
