Hillevi Rombin was the 4th titleholder of Miss Universe as well as a former Miss Sweden.
Anna Kerstin Hillevi Rombin was born in Långhed in Alfta parish, Gävleborg, Sweden. She was the daughter of Lars Vilhelm Rombin and his wife Anna Olsson. She had an older brother Lars Olof Eskil b. 1927.[1]
The family moved to Uppsala in Sweden in 1937.
Hillevi Rombin married in California 1957 to hotel owner and film producer David Schine (b. 1927), they had six shildren together.
She died in a plane crash in 1996, together with her husband, and one of their sons. She was 62 years old and the first Miss Universe to pass away. She is buried togheter with her husband and son at Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery.
