Biography

Christiana Schuyler was born in 1771 to Abraham Schuyler Aaltje Van Voorhees . Page 175: The Will of Abraham of New Brunswick, NJ dated Dec 12, 1813 mentions son Abraham, and daughters; Aeltie Ten Eyck; Christina Thompson; Elenor Clark; Johanna, wife of Staats Van Deusen; Catherine Lyles children: Christine Van Neuis, Altie Lyle, Johanna Richmond and Robert Lyle." <>Florence Christoph, Schuyler Genealogy A Compendium of Sources Pertaining to the Schuyler Families in America Prior to 1800 (n.p: The Friends of Schuyler Mansion, 1987).</>


Marriage

Christina Schuyler married Peter on November 5, 1790. <>Page 45 Family 16. Peter Thompson [27], (John Thomson, Jacoba Schuurman, Jacobus'), baptized 22 March, 1767, New Brunswick N. J.: died an old man: married about 5 November, 1789, Christina Schuyler, daughter of Judge Abraham and Aaltje (or Alida) (Voorhees) Schuyler.[See note to Family9] [1] Baptisms of their children show one as early as 1790, and one as late as 1801 ; and the burial there of their infant child is found in 1804. In February, 1827, he was living at Sand Beach, (or Owasco Outlet), about two miles from Auburn, New York.</> Richard Wynkoop, Schuremans, of New Jersey (New York, New York: Knickerbocker Press, 1902). Christiana passed away in 1847.
