Wilbur lived in Raccoon Township, Gallia County, Ohio with his parents and siblings until at least 1930.[3][4][5] In 1940, he lived in Marion Township, Franklin County, Ohio with his sister Mary (Scott) Jenkins and her family.[6]
Wilbur served in the United States Army in the European Theater in World War II. He was a technician fifth grade, serving from 22 Jun 1942-2 Nov 1945.[2][7][8]
Wilbur (age 36), son of Lafe Scott and Cora Vinney, married Beulah M (Bowman) (Pope) Burton (age 32) on 2 Mar 1946 in Franklin, Ohio, United States.[9] In 1950, they lived in Columbus, Ohio. No children were recorded in either his 1950 census[10] or his obituary.[2]
Wilbur died on 15 Nov 1979 at the VA Center in Dayton, Montgomery, Ohio aged 70.[2][11][12] He is buried at Green Lawn Cemetery in Columbus, Ohio.[13]
