When Benajah Ethelbert Seale was born on October 27, 1910, in Hernando, Florida, his father, William, was 60 and his mother, Jessie, was 37. He married Bauza Lee Knight on June 10, 1934, in Jacksonville, Florida. They had five children and and 13 grandchildren. He began his lifelong career with the former Atlantic Coast Line Railroad in May 1929, just before the start of the Great Depression in October of that year. Upon retirement, he enjoyed camping, fishing, and photography. He died on May 17, 1992, in Jacksonville, Florida, at the age of 81.
