Vincent was born circa 1730 in Virginia Colony. He passed away in 1807 in Bourbon County, Kentucky.
He was married to Lettice Gibbs.
24 April 1777 between Mary Gibbs, Executrix, John Gibbs, and Francis Gibbs of Brumfield Parish, Culpeper County, Executors of Will of Zachariah Gibbs, deceased, of one part and Vincent Self of Orange County of other part .. for £13.13.6 .. sell 100 acres bounded .. north side Rapidan River

Was enumerated in a census of Orange County, Virginia taken Oct 1782 (household containing 5 white, 2 black persons).
In 1783, Vincent moved to Culpepper County, Virginia.
17 Jan 1783 Indenture between John McDaniel of Culpepper County of one part, and Vincent Self of Orange County of the other part. For the sum of £100 current money... sell unto Vincent Self one certain tract of land lying in the above said County..

By 1787, Vincent and his wife sold their land and moved to Kentucky.
17 Sep 1787 Indenture between Vincent Self and Lettice his Wife, of Culpepper County of one part and George Haywwod of the aforesaid County of other part; in consideration of the sum of £90 current money... sell unto George Haywood one certain tract of land lying in County of Culpepper and containing 99 acres 1788-1789 Culpeper County, Virginia Deed Book O; [Antient Press]; Page 130-132
In 1788 and in 1790 he was taxed in Fayette County, Kentucky.
In 1800 he was taxed in Bourbon County, Kentucky.

Vincent Self and his descendants are often confused with another man by the same name.
There were two Vincent Selfs who resided in several Southern states in the 18th and early 19th centuries.
Both appear to have originated in Virginia Colony. Both had daughters named Sarah, Anna and Elizabeth.
However, the other Vincent Self had migrated to Orange and Chatham counties North Carolina by 1760 and then to Pendleton District, South Carolina by 1800 and next to Jackson Co=unty, Georgia in 1803. He died in Hall COunty, Georgia after 1820.
This Vincent Self is believed to be the father of:
Sarah Self who married William Flanagan
Anna Self who married Noah Langley
Elizabeth Self who married Joseph White
Penelope Self who married Jehu Brown
