Catherine was born in 1916, the daughter of Henry George Sherlock and Ivy Maude (Norton)[1]
In 1937 she married Robert James Burnett in Victoria[2]
Her husband enlisted in the Australian Army and was sent overseas where he was captured and spent time as a German prisoner of war, returning to Australia in 1945.
Catherine and Robert were divorced in 1946 on grounds of desertion. Robert was living in England
