Nathaniel married Jerusha Thompson, daughter of Joseph & Temperance (Nichols0 Thompson, on 26 Dec 1754 at Stratford, Fairfield, CT - parents of David, Beulah, Nathan, Ann Eliza, Jerusha, Silas, Everett & Huldah Sherman.

Died (1797-07-12) Monroe, Fairfield, Connecticut, USA. ^[3]

His will is dated 20 May 1797 and proved on 7 August 1797 in Stratford. He mentions his wife Jemimah, his four sons, David, Nathaniel, Silas N., and Everett B., Huldah Sherman, Beulah Curtiss, Anne Beers, Jerusha Reed, Phebe Matilda Saunders, and Polly Clark.^[4]

His inventory was completed on 2 October 1797 in Stratford.^[5]

In 1798, his real estate was set out to his sons, David Sherman, Nathaniel Sherman, Silas N. Sherman, and Everett B. Sherman.^[6]

In 1800, the widow, Jemima received her share of his estate.^[7]
