Caswell Monroe Sigmon was born on April 20, 1861 in North Carolina, United States. He was the son of Andrew Sigman and Mary Teague.

In 1870, Caswell, age 7 years, was recorded in the census of Little River, Ellendale, Alexander County, North Carolina. He is living with his parents and siblings.^[1]

Caswell Sigmon passed away on December 17, 1937, Lenoir, Caldwell County, North Carolina. He is buried in the Bellview Cemetery, in Lenoir.^[2] His obituary was published on December 18, 1937 in The Charlotte Observer, Charlotte, North Carolina.^[3]
