Biography

George Simons was born on 2 Aug. 1863 at New York, USA. He appeared on the census of 1 July 1870 in the household of his parents, Richard W. Simons and Dianah (Hallock) Simons, at Troupsburg, Steuben County, New York.[1] He appeared on the census of 8 June 1880 in the household of his parents at Troupsburgh, Steuben County, New York.[2] He appeared on the census of 20 June 1900 at Troupsburg, Steuben County, New York.[3]

He married Irene about 1893.[4] Irene died before April 1912. He was a farmer when he and Irene appeared on the census of 29 April 1910 at Troupsburg, Steuben County, New York.[4]

He married Maude Hemly, daughter of Edward and Maria (Thomas) Hemly on 11 April 1912 at Steuben County, New York.[5]

He and Maude appeared on the census of 12 April 1930 at Troupsburg, Steuben County, New York.[6]

George died on 15 July 1942 at Woodhull, Tioga County, Pennsylvania, and was buried at Woodlawn Cemetery, Austinburg, Tioga County, Pennsylvania.[7] His memorial states that his headstone is shared with Irenea.[8]
