Henry F. Simpson was born in 1870 in Kentucky, United States, son of Elijah Simpson (~1825–1894) and Celia Gentry (1834–1914).

Henry married Ida Catherine Thompson (born on December 31, 1866 in Kentucky; daughter of John Jennings Thompson and Mary Elizabeth (Gentry) Thompson). Their children were:

In 1880, Henry was living in Woodsonville, Hart, Kentucky. [1]

In 1900, Henry was living in Rowletts, Hart. [2]

Henry died on July 10, 1918 in Hart, aged 47. He was buried in Joshua Brents Burial Ground, Defries, Hart County, Kentucky.[3]
