Alexander Sittig Jr., born at Sommerville, Silesia, Prussia in 1820 married Rosalia Manig, daughter of Gottlieb Manig a circuit judge. Born July 13, 1824 in Bautzen, Saxony, Germany she was 19 years old at the wedding which took place in 1843 at Lauban, where her father had moved.
This couple came to America with three children in 1849: Richard, Jenny Rosalia and Eugene. They went first to Oshgosh, Wisconsin. In that city Alexander Franklin Sittig (July 30, 1850) and Rosalia Sittig (March 30, 1852) were born. This completed the family.
Alexander Jr. had a sister, Clara, who married Mortitz Weidner. They had eight children. One granddaughter, Clara Louise Wenborne, was later to marry Jenny's son, Eugene A. RummIer.
Within a few years Alexander Jr. and his family of three children were ready to leave Oshgosh. So they are found moving in 1855 to Dubuque. There Jenny met and married Joseph.
Buried 16 Jan 1922 in Graceland cemetery.
