Andrew Jackson Sitton was born January 8, 1857, in Tennessee, a son of John Sitton and his first wife, Elizabeth Caroline Roberts.
According to a memorial stone on John Sitton's grave, "John and his first wife, Elizabeth Carolina Roberts left Ellijay, Georgia in August, 1867 enroute to Texas, with their eight children. On the Louisiana side of the Mississippi River, Elizabeth and four of her children died of Cholera and were buried there." [1]
A.J. Sitton died January 14, 1932, in Hale county, Texas. [2] Andrew is buried in the Floydada Cemetery, in Floyd county, Texas. [3]
