WAIHI DAILY TELEGRAPH, VOLUME XXXIV, ISSUE 8717, 15 JANUARY 1935 - WEDDING BELLS. SKINNER - NEWSHAM. A quiet wedding was solemnised at St. Francis' Church, Thames, on December 27th, by the Rev. Father McCormick, the contracting parties being Leah Marcia, second daughter of Mr and Mrs G. H. Newsham, of Turua, and Arthur Alfred, eldest son of Mr and the late Mrs A. W. Skinner, of Waihi. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a pretty pink frock, with pink hat to tone, and carried a bouquet of pink carnations and asparagus fern. She was attended by her sister, Miss Beryl Newsham, who wore a pink georgette with pink crinoline straw hat, and carried a bouquet of carnations and asparagus fern. Mr H. Newsham, brother of the bride, was best man. After the ceremony a few intimate friends were entertained to a luncheon at the Cornwall Arms Hotel. Mrs G. H. Newsham received the guests, wearing a brown ensemble, with hat to tone.
