Biography
When Robert Sloan was born on May 28, 1776, his father, Archibald Sloan, was 29.[1]
Robert married Margaret Cook on December 29, 1801, in Blount, Tennessee.[2][3][4]
On Thursday 11 June 1807 the Board of Commissions for Land Registers "...examined the claim of David Sloan, designee of John Sloan, Alexander Sloan, William Sloan, James Boyd [husband of sister Sarah Sloan], Andrew Jackson [husband of sister Jean Sloan], David Brown [husband of sister Elizabeth Sloan], Colinus Miller [husband of sister Polly Sloan], Robert Sloan and James Sloan... for 109 acres... was found to be valid." In addition, the claim of Robert Sloan, designee of John Sloan, Alexander Sloan, William Sloan, James Boyd [husband of sister Sarah Sloan], Andrew Jackson [husband of sister Jean Sloan], David Brown [husband of sister Elizabeth Sloan], Colinus Miller [husband of sister Polly Sloan], James Sloan and David Sloan... for 91 acres... was found invalid."[5]
He died on August 6, 1845, in Whitfield, Georgia, at the age of 69. His will was written on 30 May 1845.[6] It was proven in Ordinary Court (Probate Court) September 1845.[6]
