Biography

Agnes was born about 1835. She married Philip Henry Aydon in 1853 in Australia [1] When she arrived is NZ she was known as Mrs Roscow, and this was also the name taken by her sons. She passed away in 1875. [2]

Aydon.— July 23, at her residence, Bridge street, Nelson, after a short but painful illness, Agnes Rosa Anne Aydon, of Birmingham, England, aged 40, wife of Phillip Henry Aydon, of Sandridge, Victoria, and the beloved moiher of Frederick and Archibald Roscow. [Birmingham and Melbourne papers please copy.] [3]

the date on the death certificate is the 24. July, in the newspaper it is mentioned as the 23. July.

I am not sure if Agnes was born in the UK - she may well have been born in Australia and then moved to New Zealand, having separated from her husband Philip Henry Aydon. She had at lease two children out of wedlock one died and the other was Katie Roscoe or Roscow (aka Katie Leete).
