Biography
Hephzibah was born in Heckington[1] in Lincolnshire and baptised in Great Hale, a village one mile to the south of Heckington, on 4 October 1824. She was the daughter of Thomas Smith, a Shoemaker, and Mary Bailey. [2]
Hephzibah was a Servant and she married John Holland, also a Servant from Pointon, in Sempringham on 25 July 1842. Their fathers recorded on the Parish Register were Samuel Holland, a Cottager, and ? Smith, a Shoemaker. Their witnesses were George Walton and Edith Temperton.[3]
The couple worked as agricultural labourers in Pointon in Lincolnshire and they had two children.[1]
Hephzibah's death (age 85) was registered in the Oct-Nov-Dec quarter of 1908 in the Bourne district.[4]
