Sarah was born in Green Township, Ross County, Ohio in about June of 1834. [1] She was a daughter of George Smith and Leah Barnhart.
Sarah was likely the female age 5-9 in her father's household at Green Township in 1840. [2]
In 1850 Sarah was living with her parents and seven siblings at Green Township. She was listed as 17 years old and born in Ohio. [3]
Sarah married Solomon Fawver on 17 September 1854 at Ross County. The minister who conducted the ceremony was Abraham Jones. [4][5] They had at least seven children together.
In 1860 Sarah was living at Springfield Township, Ross County with her husband, three of their children, Nancy J., Emma and Geo. S. Fawver, James P. Robey and Mary A. Smith, her brother Lewis Smith and his wife Harriet's newborn daughter. Lewis and Sarah were immediate neighbors. [6]
Sarah appeared at Drummer Township in Ford County, Illinois in the household of Solomon Fawver with seven of their children in 1880. She was recorded as 46 years old and born in Ohio. [7]
Sarah died on 9 February 1895 and was buried at Drummer Township Cemetery in Gibson City, Ford County. [1]
