Josiah married Polly Barber on 6 February 1777 in Lexington, Middlesex, Massachusetts, United States.[3]

Josiah served in the American Revolution in Captain Parker's company, serving 5 months at Ticonderoga.[4][5]

Josiah died (age 73) in November 1826 in Lexington, Massachusetts, United States.[6][7] Josiah was mentioned on a memorial in Munroe Cemetery, Lexington, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States with a death date of 20 November 1826.[8]
