Biography
When Nancy Elizabeth Smith was born in 1802 in Granville, North Carolina, her father, Robert, was 36, and her mother, Sarah, was 30. She married Thomas Hope on May 20, 1818. They had 11 children in 21 years. She died in August 1892 in Jacksboro, Tennessee, at the impressive age of 90, and was buried there.
