Biography

John Sollows was born Aug. 10, 1731, the daughter of Thomas Sollows and Sarah Ogilvie of Beverly, Mass^[1]

On May 17, 1753, he married Anna Elwell, the daughter of Jonathan Elwell and Lydia Sollows of Gloucester, Mass^[2], and their children included:

1. John, born Oct. 23, 1754^[1], who died in 1756^[3]
2. Lydia, born Aug. 27, 1757^[1], who married John Landers, son of Sealed Landers^[3]
3. John, born Oct. 3, 1759^{[1] [3]}
4. Thomas, baptized. Oct. 4, 1761^{[1] [3]}
5. Willoughby, baptized. July 31, 1763^[1], who married Judith Corning, daughter of Ebenezer^[3]
6. Joseph, born April 11, 1766 in Yarmouth^[3]
7. Walter, born May 12, 1768, who married Anne Rose, daughter of Richard^[3]
8. Sarah, born September 19, 1779, who married Benjamin Larkin, son of Walter^[3]

In 1764, Jonathan and Anna Sollows emigrated to Nova Scotia, where they were among of the early settlers of Yarmouth township^{[4] [5] [6] [3] [7]}

Anna (Elwell) Sollows died January 5, 1776^[3]
