Family Reunion
One of the happiest affairs of the season was a joint birthday dinner and family reunion given in celebration of the eightieth birthday of Grandma Longan at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Walter Bluejacket, Sunday, June 11. At the noon hour a spacious table was spread on the lawn, where baskets of choice food was spread. Several fine cakes were baked in honor of her birthday. Grandfather Longan will pass the 80-year mark Aug. 3, 1933. There were about 63 present and all had a lovely time talking over old times after partaking of the bounteous dinner. The group was composed of relatives as follows: The honoree, Mrs. J. B. Longon [sic], and her husband, J. B. Longon [sic], Mr. and Mrs. Ben Longon [sic] and children, Marie and Herman Longon [sic], of Skiatook, Okla., Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie Hobgood and Mrs, Pauline Walker and baby, of Tulsa; Mr. and Mrs. Bert Cook of Longton, Kas.; Mr. and Mrs, Jim Cook of Burdin, Kas.; John Cook of Oak Valley, Kas.; Mr. and Mrs. Jake Longon [sic] and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Butterfield, Mr. and Mrs. Homer Sullivan. and son, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Graham and family, all of Peoria, Okla.; Mr. and Mrs. Ollie Stoner, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Stoner, and son, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Gilmore, all of Peoria district; Mr. and Mrs. Bob Longon [sic] and children, of Wyandotte; Mr. and Mrs. Lee Simpson and sons, Bennie, John and Jake, of District No. 6; Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Captain and family, Mr. and Mrs. Thurman Captain, Charley, George, Susann, Virginia and Dennis Captain, Misses Vonna and Fleta Clay, Leo Captain, Ercel [sic] Bluejacket, Lorene Pliler, Miss Lucy Graham, Leonard Bluejacket, Mr. and Mrs. Todhunter and children, and Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Bluejacket.[1]

- Honoree: Eliza Doniphan (Cook) Longan ("Grandma Longan") and her husband, John Bowles Longan ("Grandpa Longan")
- Ben Longan and his wife, Ada Belle (Crippen) Longan. Ben is the son of John & Eliza Longan. Ben's children:
- Herman Longan, and his wife, Marie [Note: there is no current information on this wife.]. Herman is the son of Ben & Ada Longan.
- Jessie Mae (Longan) Hobgood, and her husband, James "Jimmie" Hobgood. Jessie is the daughter of Ben & Ada Longan.
- Pauline (Longan) Walker and baby. Pauline is the daughter of Ben & Ada Longan.
- Benjamin Herbert "Bert" Cook, and his wife. Bert is the nephew of Eliza (Cook) Longan, and the son of her brother John Reeves Cook. Bert's wife needs more research.
- Jim Cook, and his wife, of Burdin, Kansas. Jim is either going to be the brother of Eliza (Cook) Longan, or her nephew (both are named James). Needs more research.
- John Cook of Oak Valley, Kansas. Again, John is either going to be the brother of Eliza (Cook) Longan, or her nephew (both are named John). Needs more research.
- Jake Longan and his wife, Nancy Belle (Coker) Longan, and family.
- Martha Ann (Longan) Butterfield & her husband, Benjamin "Ben" Butterfield. Martha is the daughter of John & Eliza Longan.
- Thelma (Captain) Sullivan & her husband, Homer Sullivan, and son. Thelma is the daughter of Florence (Longan) Captain & Thomas Captain, and the granddaughter of John & Eliza Longan.
- Alta (Longan) Graham & her husband, Everett Graham and family. Alta is the daughter of John & Eliza Longan.
- Lucille (Bluejacket) Stoner & her husband, Ollie Stoner. Lucille is the daughter of Doris (Longan) & Walter Lane Bluejacket, and granddaughter of John & Eliza Longan.
- Ralph Stoner & his wife, Alsie Opal (Floyd) Stoner, and son. Ralph Stoner is the brother of Ollie Stoner.
- Mr. and Mrs. Carl Gilmore
- William Robert "Bob" Longan & his wife, Carrie (Wyrick) Longan, and children. Bob is the son of John & Eliza Longan. Note that Carrie is a cousin of Ada (Crippen) Longan, who is married to Ben Longan, brother to Bob Longan. Both Carrie and Ada are part of the Wyrick family. - Emma Bell (Longan) Simpson & her husband, Leander Simpson, and sons, Bennie, John, and Jake. Emma is the daughter of John & Eliza Longan.
- Florence (Longan) Captain & her husband, Thomas Captain, and family. Florence is the daughter of John & Eliza Longan. Their children:
- Thurman Captain & his wife Mildred (Allen) Captain and Charley, George, Susann, Virginia and Dennis Captain.
- Misses Vonna Clay and Fleta Clay. Sisters. Currently unknown how, or if, they are related to the family. They might be neighbors, or daughters of friends or work colleagues of members of the Longan family.
- Leo Captain is the son of Florence (Longan) & Thomas Captain, and is the grandson of John & Eliza Longan.
- Ercell Bluejacket is the daughter of Doris (Longan) & Walter Lane Bluejacket, and is the granddaughter of John & Eliza Longan
- Lorene Pliler - She eventually marries Leo Captain.
- Miss Lucy Graham
- Leonard Bluejacket is the son of Doris (Longan) & Walter Lane Bluejacket, and is the grandson of John & Eliza Longan
- Mr. and Mrs. Todhunter and children. Needs more research. It might be William Hall Todhunter.
- Doris (Longan) Bluejacket & her husband, Walter Lane Bluejacket. Doris is the daughter of John & Eliza Longan.
