I am assuming he was my grandpa because of his sister Effie, my mom Velmah McClain had an aunt Effie McClain Freed. He was known as Lon, his mom died and father remarried, had two stepbrothers Dell of South Bend and Dr Frank of Arkansas, 2 half sisters Osta Stonebraker of Galveston,IN and Mrs frank Bayless of Diamondale,MI. His wife my granma Margaret Freed, Married 29 July, 1887;four children-Glenn, Mazzie Shaffer, Florence Shaffer (they married brothers), my mom Velmah Sparling
