Biography

Lydia Ann (Sprinkle) Shetterly was born about 1855 in Kentucky, United States, daughter of Napoleon Bonaparte Sprinkle (1810 - ~1879) and Dollie Jane (Greenlee) Sprinkle (~1831 - 1917).

Lydia (~19) married William Harrison Shears (~19) (~1855 - 1934) on 20 Jan 1875 in Lincoln County, KY.^[1]

Their children were:

1. Jane Pauline (Shears) Cooley (1874 - 1943)
2. George William Shears (1878 - 1958).
3. John T Shears (1880–Death unknown)
4. William Harrison Shears (1885–1966)

Lydia married Christopher Columbus Shetterly (1831 - 1912).

In the 1880 census Lydia (age 25), Keeping House, was the wife of William Shears in Magisterial District 7, Clark, Kentucky, United States.^[2] William Shears 25, wife Lydia K. Shears 25, daughter Paulina J. Shears 5, son George W. Shears 3, son John T. Shears 0, mother-in-law Dolla Sprinkles 40, sister-in-law Orlena Sprinkles 14, sister-in-law Sallie N. Sprinkles 13, brother-in-law Doeter F. Sprinkles 10.

In the 1910 census Lyda (age 65) was the wife of Columbus Shetterly in Civil District 3, Campbell, Tennessee, United States.^[3] Columbus Shetterly 80, wife Lyda C Shetterly 65, son William Shetterly 18.

Lydia died on 22 Aug 1914 in Anderson, Tennessee aged ~59.^[4][5]
