Biography
Ada Emily (Starkey) Weir was born in Stockton Heath, Cheshire, England.
Emily Starkey was born on 15 September 1875 in Stockton Heath, Cheshire, England, the daughter of Joseph Starkey and Rachael Maddock.[1][2] [3]
She was baptised as Ada Emily Starkey on 13 February 1876 in St Thomas' church, Stockton Heath. [4] She used the name Ada or Ada Emily throughout her life.
In 1881 Ada was living in Bostock Street, Stockton Heath with her parents and 6 siblings. Her father was a house carpenter. [1]
In 1891 Ada was living in Chester Road, Walton, Cheshire, She was a dressmaker's apprentice. [5]
When Ada was 29, she married Albert Weir on 26 October 1904 in St Thomas' church, Stockton Heath. [6]
In 1911 Ada was living in Hatton, Cheshire with her husband and 2 children. Her husband was a farmer. They were being visited by Elizabeth Starkey, Emily's sister. [7]
In 1939 Emily was living at Blue Coat Farm, Hatton Lane, Daresbury with her husband, son and mother.[2]
Emily died at the age of 92 on 29 March 1968 at Hatton Hall Farm, Hatton, Cheshire.[8]
Probate: 31 July 1968.[8]
