Military
Marshall enlisted for Confederate service on 22 April 1861. He was discharged on 22 July 1862. His service was with the Loudoun Guard, Company C, 17th Virginia Regiment under Capt. Charles B. Tebbs.
Burial
Marshall's grave marker was ordered by his great-grandson, Melvin, Jr., in 1954. According to his Find A Grave memorial, Marshall died May 8, 1882 on his 58th birthday, and is buried in the Union Cemetery, in Leesburg, Loudoun county, Virginia. [1]
