Mabel Laura Steeves was born on 28 Jun 1888 in Mapleton, Moncton City, Westmorland, New Brunswick, Canada, daughter of John Bunyan Steeves (1852 - 1926) and Elizabeth Jane (Steeves) Branscombe (1861 - 1950).

- Mary Mildred Steeves (1893 - 1984)
Mabel married Otto Leverett Steeves (born in Dawson Settlement, Hillsborough, Albert, New Brunswick on 22 Jan 1889; died in Moncton, Westmorland on 24 Nov 1959), son of Hiram Watson Steeves and Margaret Etta MacFarlane, on 11 Jan 1910 in Westmorland. Their children were:
- Isabelle Mildred (Steeves) Price (~1912 - )
- Winnifred Zina (Steeves) Crosthwaite (1913 - 1997).
Mabel died about 1978 in Westmorland aged ~89. She is buried in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens, Moncton.
