Biography

Alexander Steeves was born on 9 Jun 1790 in New Brunswick, son of Matthias Steeves (1761 - 1848) and Sophia (Beck) Steeves (~1768 - 1844).

His siblings were:

  9. Hannah (Steeves) Mollins (1802 - )
  10. Simon Steeves (1804 - 1879)
  11. Mansfield Steeves (1809 - 1887)
  12. Mary (Steeves) Gross (1811 - 1884)
  13. Matthias Steeves (1813 - 1820)

Alexander married Sarah Horsman , daughter of Christopher Horsman and Lydia Wilbur, in 1816. Their children were:

  1. Mary Steeves (1819 - 1900)
  2. John Gunning Steeves (~1821 - ~1901)
  3. Sarah Ann Steeves (~1828 - ~1903)
  4. Alexander W. Steeves (1834 - 1900).

Alexander died in 1874 in New Brunswick aged ~84. He is buried in First Hillsborough United Baptist Church Cemetery, Hillsborough, New Brunswick.
