Biography

Emma Frances Stetson was born in July 1833 ^[1][2] at Charleston, Massachusetts. ^[1][3] She was the daughter of Lemuel Stetson and Margaret (Snow) Stetson. ^[2][4]

Married Richard Eastman Merrill, 12 Apr 1860 at Newton, Massachusetts. ^[3][2]

Emma was born and raised in Charlestown, Massachusetts ^[2] and in 1850 was living there at age 17, with her parents and siblings (and 2 domestic servants). ^[9] In 1855, age 22, was still in Charlestown with her family, living in Ward 1. ^[10]

At age 25, she 1860, she was living with her family and a boarder, soon to be husband Richard E. Merrill, in Newton, Massachusetts. ^[11]

In 1880, age 60, she was living at Washington Park, Newton, Massachusetts, with her husband and their 3 children: William F (age 14), John, (5) and Francis (4). ^[12]

At her death, she was living in Newtonville, Massachusetts ^[1]

She passed away in August 1916, ^[2] a widow, age 83, at Marblehead, Massachusetts. ^[1] She was buried in the Newton Cemetery, Newton, Massachusetts ^[1][13]
