Obituary

Funeral services for Mrs. J. W. Lindsey, former Denison woman, who died Sunday morning at 6:30 o' clock at her home 12 miles east of Anna, were held Monday afternoon at 2:30 o' clock at Short-Murray Chapel here. Burial was in Layne-Coffman Cemetery with Rev. L. P. Lamb, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church officiating.

Mrs. Lindsey, who was close to 80 years old, [ born February 4, 1885 in Brownsville, Edmonson Co., KY, a daughter of Andrew and Nancy (Meredith) Stice] , resided at the Cotton Mill here several years ago, prior to the death, a decade ago of her husband. Mr. Lindsey was engaged in truck farming at the Cotton Mill. Since her husband's passing, Mrs. Lindsey had made her home with her son, Willie Lindsey, near Anna. Her death followed a year of illness and her condition had been critical during the last three or four weeks.

Surviving in addition to the son near Anna is another son, Robert Lindsey of Kemp, Oklahoma and two daughters, Mrs. Nannie Terrell of Anna and Mrs. E. G. Odle of Texola, Okla. Mrs. Odle had been at her mother's bedside for five months.
