Biography

Henry I Stickler was the second oldest child of Andrew Stickler (1828–1899) and Margaret Warden (1835–Deceased), who were married on 31 July 1852 in Kosciusko county, Indiana. He had older sister, Pamelia and three younger siblings; Mary 1858, Edward 1859 and Zachariah 1862.

Residence 1860 was in Harrison Township, Kosciusko county, Indiana.[1] Henry J 4 and all of his siblings were born in Indiana. He was at home with Pamelia A 6, Mary R 2, Edward W 1 and their mother, Margaret 24. His father, Andrew 31 was a blacksmith with property valued at $800 real estate and $200 personal. The nearest post office was in Palestine.

Residence 1870 was in Wayne Township, Kosciusko county, Indiana.[2] Henry 13 was at home with four siblings; Permelia A 15, Edward 11, Mary 9 and Jashamiah [Zachariah] 6. His mother, Margaret 35 was keeping house and his father, Andrew 42, was a farmer with property valued at $12,800 in real estate and $400 personal. The nearest post office was in Wassner.

Henry was married on 26 March 1879 in Kosciusko county, Indiana to Elizabeth Ellen Hoff.[3] She was the daughter of Samuel Hoff (1830–Deceased) and Elizabeth Oldfield (1837–Deceased), who were married on 1 January 1857 in Richland County, Ohio. Henry and Elizabeth had five children; Lloyd Emanuel 1880, Zoa Belle 1881, Walter Alvah 1887, Mildred Ruby 1892 and Coral Katherine 1901.

Residence 1880 was in Wayne Township, Kosciusko county, Indiana.[4]

His father died on 19 March 1899 in Wayne township of Kosciusko county in Indiana. It is not known when or where his mother died.

Residence 1900 was in Wayne Township, Kosciusko county, Indiana.[5] Henry 44 was a farmer and owned a mortgaged farm. His wife, Elizabeth 39, was at home with three children; Emanual 20, Walter 13 and Mildred 8. Their oldest daughter, Zoa Belle, had been married on 19 March 1900 to Chester Jones. Elizabeth was the mother of four children with four living. Emanual was a farm laborer. Walter and Mildred were at school.

Their son, Walter, was married to Rose Bell Nikart on 01 November 1909 in St. Joseph, Indiana.[6]

Henry died on 27 February 1910 in South Bend of St, Joseph county, Indiana.[7] His burial was in Palestine of Harrison township in Kosciusko county, Indiana.[8][9]
