Biography

Elisabetha was born in 1727 in Klein St. Veit, Carinthia, Austria[1]. She married Christian Köraus[2], whith whom she had 9 daughters and 2 sons between 1749 and 1772 [3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13]. The two oldest girls passed away young and the younger two were named evidently after them. Thay all were born in a place called Köraushoff (Köraus Farm or Courtyard) or Kehraushof which can be found in the maps of the day [14]. The street around it is still called today "Köraus Street" [ Körausweg in Google Maps].

Corbellani-1 Cristina Corbellani
The surname varies in the birth records of her children, Stihalerin is the oldest, but in others it's written as Stichalerin or Stichallerin. Also in that same church record (in latin) all females have the particle "in" added at the end of the family name, so her family name was probably "Stichaller".
