In 1813 she married William Sutton Sr. In 1826 Wm Sutton Sr and Mary Stout acquired farmland in Sections 20 and 21 in Greene Township, Parke County, Indiana. It is unclear when the family actually moved there, as 11 children were born back in Union County, Indiana (Eliza 1816 thru John 1841) where Mary Stout’s father-in-law (Rev James Sutton) lived and died (1808-1828). Her husband died in 1869 and one year later Mary passed away in Greene Township and was buried in Raccoon Cemetery.
Mary Stout married William Sutton Sr in 1813 at Somers, Preble County, Ohio [1]. They appeared in the 1850 and 1860 Parke County, Indiana censuses [2].[3].
William died in 1869, and Mary lived on in the same household with her never married daughter Caroline, her never married sons Abel and John, living next door to her widowed daughter Rebecca Davis. (Aug 1870 census, last reference to Mary) [4](the year she dies according to Find-a-Grave).
