Celia "Caleh" was born about1720 most likely in Virginia. She may have been the daughter of Mathew Strickland and Ann Braswell. [Note: No records found to confirm that these were her parents. It is possible that her given name was Elizabeth.^[1]]

Celia "Celah" married Alexander Chisenhall about 1737.^[2]

Her husband's Will dated 17 December 1795 passed Probate in Feb 1796 in Orange, North Carolina, United States.^[3][4] His Will named his wife Caley and children:
