Biography

Dorcas Strout was born on 1 March 1773 in Gorham, Maine. Her parents were Elisha Strout and Eunice (Freeman) Strout[1].

She married Rufus Libby on 25 April 1793 in Limington, Maine[2]. They had eight children[3]:

1. William, born 12 Aug 1793; married Esther Brackett
2. Philemon, born 14 Dec 1796; married 1st Eliza Strout, 2nd Sally Libby
3. Apphia, born 21 Jun 1799; married Robert Brackett
4. Rufus, born 18 Apr 1802; married Martha Blake
5. Nathaniel, born 6 Jul 1804; married Lucinda Berry
6. Martha, born 21 Nov 1809; married William Libby
7. Eunice, born 4 Jan 1813
8. Solomon, born 26 Nov 1815

Dorcas passed away in December 1849 in Limerick, Maine. [3]
